some things about television technology. The fact
is that television is different from film and from
still photos, and again from real life in one
important way—it’s all made up of a lot of dots.
And you, watching television, you do have to fit
those dots together; you are making an effort,
you are involved. He did have that perception. If he
had stopped there it would be fine, but he got into
other perceptions. He talked about the number of
dots. He once said to me, “You know, if they would
just pass a rule to change the number of pixels
making up the screen it would improve education
enormously.” Then he went into a long explanation
about it which nobody quite followed or believed.
